“We got three triple-A games in just yesterday,” says Sam Claiborne as he briskly directs us into an empty conference room. Given his schedule it’s no wonder Sam is looking flushed, but he’s wearing a smile all the same, with a tidy tuft of hair beneath his nose concealing an otherwise boyish set of features. “As you can see,” Sam continues, gesturing towards the adjoining workspace before considerately closing the door, “It’s a less fun time to be here.” As managing editor, it’s Sam’s responsibility to accommodate and coordinate his colleagues. He's usually hurrying through corridors or peering over shoulders, making sure everyone has what they need to write content and edit videos. It’s a unique role, but essential once the enormity of a single day’s work at IGN Entertainment is considered. With up to 72 million monthly readers, there’s a lot that goes into maintaining the leading video game and media network. IGN’s homepage is something many of us are familiar with.
